Today . . . . {Written by Daryl}· Aliyah woke up first so Sara went and had breakfast and relaxed with Aliyah for an hour before Samuel and I got up.
· After Samuel had finished his breakfast Hope woke up and we all got ready for the day. I put a Mickey Mouse shirt on Samuel today. As soon as he saw it, he said “Like Aunt Anna!” Yesterday, Aunt Anna was wearing a shirt with Mickey Mouse on it. Samuel doesn’t miss much!
· It was raining and the forecast for the day did NOT look promising at all!
· Aliyah was ready for a nap by about 10:30 so I, Daryl, took Samuel and Hope out of the room to wander and “see what there was to see that we have not already seen” (it was funny to hear Samuel try and repeat that after I said it!) It stopped raining right about this time so we just wandered around the resort and property. It was SO great to be able to just be on “kid time” for two hours. We didn’t have to be anywhere or do anything specific so we just went from place to place and got there at the kids’ own speed. We walked down the paths and saw the sand. We went out on the boat dock and the kids ran around and watched the boats and people. Oh, we saw a duck wandering around too, it was quite a highlight for the kids (oh, the little things in life!) We then went and had a snack in the restaurant. The kids had a blast and so did I, such a fun time with Samuel and Hope! Fun to watch them play and interact without having to be on our schedule.
· A conversation I had with Samuel during this wandering time this morning:
Samuel: Lets go find mom
Me: We have to walk around more because Aliyah’s not awake yet.
Samuel: Oh…..Shoot…..lets go find animals!
· Aliyah woke up and the sun was out so we decided to go down by the sand, well that was all that Samuel could talk about so, being on kid schedule, we went. We played in the sand and on the playground until we started to get hungry for lunch.
· For lunch we walked to Ft. Wilderness campground and found a little snack-bar by the pool and playground. The kids played on the playground and munched on some food. After that we played in the pools. The campground has a shallow kids pool, full size pool, and little splash pad with small waterslides for younger kids. Samuel, Hope and Aliyah LOVED the water. Samuel was very proud that he could go down the water slide by himself and Mommy didn’t even have to catch him at the bottom!
· I, Sara, have to interject here. When we were eating lunch, Daryl and Samuel were sitting side by side on the steps to the playground munching on nachos and grapes. I was sitting at a table near the pool with Aliyah asleep in the baby carrier and Hope sitting in the chair next to me, munching on a hot dog and chips. Daryl looks at me and says, “This is vacation!!” Yes, it is!
· We had a peaceful walk back with Aliyah sleeping in the baby carrier and Samuel and Hope resting in the stroller.
· We changed quickly when we got back and then headed off to Epcot for supper. Samuel went crazy when we got there. He did not want to ride in the stroller and ran from one thing to the next that we could barely keep up with him. I was pushing the stroller and holding Aliyah while Sara ran with/after Samuel trying to keep up. At one point Samuel stopped and turned around to look at a fountain. Sara went to go and get him to point him in the right direction. When she got close, she could hear him talking. All she could make out was the word “princess” . . . we both would’ve loved to have heard the rest of that conversation he was having with himself! Hope loved seeing Winnie the Pooh (see picture below) and Samuel loved seeing Pluto and Mickey Mouse. So fun that they are starting to recognize different Disney characters! We had supper at a Mexican restaurant and it was the usual “crazy” meal time that we seem to have here…..Aliyah crying or fussing, Samuel and Hope eating pretty good but trying to keep up with them and what they want to eat, and Sara and I getting bites to eat in between. Samuel loved the nacho chips and especially the churros. Hope wanted the nacho chips and could not understand that she needs more teeth before we will let her have them!
· After we got off of the bus in front of Wilderness Lodge it was right around 8pm. The fireworks at the Magic Kingdom started and we realized that we could see the fireworks (almost) perfectly from right by the bus stop! Samuel was, once again, mesmerized by them. He stood perfectly still and just watched them, commenting every so often on the color of them or the “big bams!” when one was especially loud. 
On the way up to the room, we had to stop at the bridge in the lobby and do the traditional "run over the bridge and back again" game. This has been one of Samuel's and Hope's favorite things to do this week. It's the simple things, right?!
· It was then back to our room, gave kids baths, and everyone to bed. Aliyah was the happiest at this point – just being able to play on the bed and move around!! She gets sick of being carried everywhere during the day. If only we could make her understand how great the stroller really is!! Sara and I then enjoyed some peach cobbler and ice cream! A great ending to a busy day!
· Samuel was tired again tonight – when I was pulling back the sheets for him to climb into bed he started giggling and got all excited. Disney really is a magical place!!
