Aliyah Rose: 8 months

Aliyah Rose, you are 8 months old. Wow! Mommy loves you so much! What are you up to this month?

• You are in size 18 month clothes. A couple 12 month outfits still fit you but that's about it.
  
• You have 5 teeth. You got your top right eye tooth before your two front teeth! It looked a little silly but the two front teeth quickly followed!
• You are getting into everything by scooting on your bum. You don't crawl (you will get up on all fours but then you'll push yourself backwards) and you don't roll over (b/c you don't want to - you get mad when you accidentally roll over). You scoot on your bum all over the house. It is the cutest thing ever. You can get wherever you want to go and you get into a lot of stuff!
• You are feeding yourself Cheerios which you absolutely love. You also loves peas, pears, and sweet potatoes and pretty much any baby food. The only one I've fed you that you don't really care for is peaches.
• You have a really loud screech - sometimes happy, sometimes mad
• You are throwing tantrums already. Especially when we take something away from you that you want or we don't let you get into Samuel and Hope's toys.
  
• You are clapping your hands!
• You are starting to give hugs the same your brother did - with your arms down at your sides and snuggling in to Mommy's shoulder as close as you can. Sometimes when I give you a hug and pat your back you'll return the favor by patting my shoulder.
• There are days where you will take 2 naps and days where you will only take 1 nap. You are a great sleeper and can be transferred from the car or the stroller or the carrier into your bed without waking up (this includes taking off your coat, etc!). Mommy loves this. Typically you will sleep through the night but we've had some nights recently where you've been awake and wanting to nurse. In Florida you got used to falling asleep while being held so we are working at re-learning how to fall asleep in your crib by yourself.
• You nurse 3 times (sometimes 3 1/2!) a day and eat baby food at lunch and dinner.
• You pulled to a stand again! You love being on your feet. Samuel saw you standing up first and asked "Mommy, what is Lili doing?" I couldn't believe it when I looked up and saw that you were standing up next to Hope's dresser!
• Samuel and Hope watch out for you and take good care of you. Sometimes they get a little too excited and knock you over or make you cry but they love you so much! You try so hard to keep up with them. I have a feeling that as you grow,you won't be left behind and that you will always want to be doing what they are doing!
• You are a big Mommy's girl. Mommy has been called back to the nursery for the past couple of Sundays b/c you won't calm down and be happy playing.
• You love baby dolls. You'll squeal at them and "talk" to them, pick them up and slobber all over their heads, drop them on the floor, pick them back up, and do the same thing all over again. It's so funny to watch!
• When you hear music you start to rock back and forth :)
• You still say "da-da-da" and you also like to "click" your tongue and you try and make things funny noise that sounds like you are rolling r's.
  
• You love your tongue and it always seems like you've got it twisted around funny or sticking out of your mouth. Silly girl - just like your brother did at your age!
