Blizzard 2011

Last night and today we got around a foot of snow. All of the schools were closed today and they were telling people to stay off of the roads. It didn't really seem like a huge blizzard to me but it was fun to get a lot of snow in a short time!! It was pretty windy with lots of blowing and drifting snow. When the snow stopped and the sun came out (and Aliyah fell asleep!) I took Samuel and Hope outside to play in all the new snow.

Samuel is getting really good at helping me shovel the driveway. And he loves to do it! He pretends he's a bulldozer or an excavator. He's had lots of practice this winter! Shortly after we started shoveling the driveway he looked at me and said "havin' fun, Mommy?" He's totally into asking questions and I think it is so cute!

Hanging out on top of the pile of snow behind our house. Hope still isn't all that excited about playing in the snow . . . but she does like to eat it!

Our driveway is difficult to shovel because the house is on one side of it and our neighbor's driveway is on the other side. We don't have too many places to put snow so it piles up really fast! Fun for the kids to play on and fun to make into a little sledding hill, too!

Hope standing up in the backyard.

Samuel relaxing with a snow snack after shoveling the driveway.

Samuel and Hope call this a snowball party. We all sit down in a circle and eat snowballs. Good stuff!!

Another favorite thing to do outside - making snow angels! Samuel needed help making them at the beginning of winter but now he is doing them all by himself and he definitely does not want any help from his Mommy!

Mommy's snow angel on the left and Samuel's snow angel on the right. He wanted me to make one and as I was doing it, he coached me on how to do it right. "Put arms above head Mommy! Move legs! Good job, Mommy!"

And my cute little baby with her cute little hat that I found on clearance at Target. Yup, love that store!!
