Van Buren State Park 2011

The group shot!

We had a great time at Van Buren State Park this past weekend with some good friends from Indianapolis. Friday (when we all got there) was a little cloudy and wet (it had rained a lot the day before and also that morning) and cool but Saturday and Sunday were absolutely beautiful days. The kids did great and minus Samuel falling off of his airbed twice and Aliyah waking up once on Saturday night, they slept great too! Below is our weekend in pictures . . . . which I didn't do a very good job at taking!

My Mom took this picture. My parents and Savannah were camping as well. Samuel loved having Savannah around. They rode bikes around and around the loop together with someone walking/running/chasing after them!

Samuel wearing his "soccer headband" like Aunt Anna!!

Our campsite. Isn't it cute? I love that there are toys strewn everywhere in this picture!!

Hope's first time eating watermelon this way. She loved it! I did have to keep reminding her that we only eat the red part!

Aliyah loved the watermelon too! But really, she loves any kind of fruit. :)

Me and my girls hanging out on Saturday morning.

Supper on Saturday night. Yes, it was much more chaotic than what this picture shows! Savannah's family came out (adding 3 more little kids to the mix) and it got a little crazy! Anna and I kept each other sane. :)

Emily loved giving Hope stroller rides. Unfortunately, Hope didn't always enjoy it! She finally started warming up towards Emily and her sister Lindsay on Sunday . . . when everyone was about to leave!

Thankfully, Samuel and Savannah didn't find the water until the day we were leaving. They sure had a fun time playing in it though!

Aliyah is at a hard age to take camping because she isn't quite walking yet. She wanted to get down and move but the only way she can "move" is by scooting on her butt. Not ideal! She could have been happy hanging onto our fingers and walking around all day but we can only do that for so long! We did have the baby walker along for her and that helped a little bit. Hoping she is walking in a month when we head for Young State Park!

The babysitting crew! My parent's took our 3 kids, Savannah, and Nolan on a walk so that everyone was able to pack up on Sunday morning!

Savannah and Samuel taking a cookie break. That's what camping is all about! Yummy snacks and relaxing in a chair!

After we packed up, we headed down to the beach for the afternoon. Aliyah loves the sand and the water!

She slept for over an hour on the beach!

Daryl buried them all in the sand.

Samuel LOVES to run!

The water was cold . . . but warm enough to run in and right back out!
