We got some snow over the past couple of days! Not a lot . . . maybe 4 of 5 inches. But enough to make a couple snowmen in our front yard! The snow was wet and heavy - not fun to shovel but so much fun for making snowmen! Samuel helped me while the girls napped. He wasn't too sure about the snowman standing on his head but I sure thought it was cute! He also was a big help with shoveling the driveway. He likes to pretend that he is a bulldozer. I love spending one-on-one time with him while the girls are asleep.
We made the snowmen on Friday and then on Saturday (after getting some lake effect snow overnight) we took the kids over to Hillside to go sledding. My friend Amy and her little guy Isaac came with us.
It was windy at the top of the hill but we made the best of it! Aliyah hates being out in the snow and hates sledding even more. She didn't enjoy being pulled in the sled over to the hill (I ended up carrying her all the way back home) and when we got to the hill she kept saying "door, door" (I think she was telling me she wanted to go inside!). Poor girl. Hope and Samuel enjoyed a couple of runs down the hill but they tired out quickly and were ready to go home. We still had fun!! We tried out our toboggan (that we got 2 years ago for our birthdays!) for the first time and it worked great! All 5 of us piled on it for one run down the hill - that was more than enough for Aliyah!
