Happy 1st Birthday, Aliyah!! You were a little upset that Mommy was taking pictures and not coming over to your bed to pick you up and give you snuggles!

Having breakfast with Samuel at the table in the living room. Cheerios and raisins. You thought that you were pretty big stuff sitting on that chair!

Samuel was
so excited to help Mommy make your cake!

Then you shared Hope's breakfast with her. You love to stand next to Hopey's tray and "help" her eat her breakfast. She is so patient with you and good at letting you share.

Grandpa stopped as he always does on Saturday mornings. This morning he bought you a yummy butterfly cookie with sparkly sprinkles on time. You loved it! So did Samuel and Hope. They did a good job at helping you eat it. You made such a mess that Mommy put you in the bathtub after you were finished. You got
so mad that Mommy ended up snuggling you until you fell asleep (just before 11am - you never take a nap that early!).

The cake disaster. It didn't work out the way Mommy was imagining it in her head. It all ended up in the trash and Grandma came to the rescue and baked you a cake. We will have the cake tomorrow afternoon.

You slept until 2pm! Such a tired girl. Daddy fed you a late lunch of mac and cheese, yogurt, and blueberries. Yum!

Time for a little mini photo shoot of the big 1 year old! You weren't too happy because you had a book in your hand that you
really wanted someone to read. You were ticked that instead of reading you the book, we were trying to get you to look at the camera and smile! This is about the only good picture that I got. :)

While Mommy and Daddy were frantically running around trying to get things ready to leave for South Haven, you found a yogurt drink in the fridge, chewed a hole through the top, and started drinking it. You were very proud of yourself!!

We spent the evening out at South Haven. It was a hot day (near 90) and very humid - perfect for a birthday on the beach! The water was
so cold (52 degrees!) but you and your siblings loved it. Crazy kids!

You love playing in the water and the sand. You are getting really good at pouring water from one thing (like the little red measuring cup) into something else (like the purple bucket)!

You played and played and played in that freezing cold water! Mommy's legs and feet were numb and a little sore by the time you decided you were done in the water. You would stick your hand way down in the water and giggle and giggle! Then you'd "run" around as fast as you could in the water while holding onto Mommy's hand.

We had a picnic supper on the channel with Grandpa and Grandma and Aunt Anna. You love your Grandma and wanted to be by her and have her feed you. Poor Grandpa couldn't eat because of his fractured jaw from his bicycle accident earlier this week.

Even though we are waiting until tomorrow to do the cake, we still had to sing Happy Birthday to you! We stuck the candle in a blueberry muffin. You were fascinated!

You loved eating the blueberry muffin!

After supper we walked up to Captain Nemo's for some delicious ice cream. You shared Mommy's milky way ice cream cone. (Somehow Aunt Anna always gets in the middle of our family pictures. Good thing we love her. A lot!)
It was a beautiful night to be at the beach! We didn't get home until after 9. We taught Samuel and Hope how to catch fireflies (fighter-flies as Samuel calls them) and then headed inside for quick baths and bed! What a great birthday! We love you, Aliyah Rose! Happy 1st Birthday!
