Today we took a family trip up to Grand Rapids . . .
I got my hair cut (and high-lighted!) by my cousin's wife's sister. She did an awesome job. I love it! While I was getting my hair done, Daryl took the kids to McDonald's for lunch. The first McDonald's they went to wasn't the greatest (i.e. the playland didn't work for our kids - the most important part of McD's!) so after they ate lunch they packed up and headed to another one. It was much better and the kids had a blast!
From there we went to Cornerstone to watch the men's basketball game. Anna works the games so we got to see her in action. It wasn't the greatest game . . . Cornerstone ran away with it and smoked Aquinas by around 30 points. But it was still fun and Samuel loved it. He said it was his favorite part of the day.
And then for supper we headed to Chez Olga . . . a delicious Haitian restaurant (actually the only one in the State) in Grand Rapids. My Aunt and Uncle and 2 of their girls came along as well as my parents and my Dad's parents. It was mainly to celebrate Hope's adoption day (December 28). And also just because Daryl and I love the food!!
We enjoyed the food and the time out . . . but we dream of the day that we can actually talk with the other people that we're eating with! The kids did really well but . . . well . . . they are 3, 2, and 1! The restaurant is truly Haitian and the food does take awhile so it was hard to keep them entertained. The wait and the circus at the end of our table was totally worth it when the food came. YUM!
It was a great Saturday!!

Sigh. Remember the days when going to a restaurant was relaxing? It will be again, someday...( And I hope you ate enough rice and beans for me. ;)).
