You Stink!

Tonight we were sitting at the dinner table. Samuel sits next to Daryl. Out of the blue, Samuel said, "Daddy, you stink!" The randomness of it caught us both off guard. We asked him to repeat what he said . . . yup, we heard him right! Then Daryl said, "where does Daddy stink?" Samuel, without even hesitating to think, said "under your arms!" Sooooo funny!

He's been pretty fascinated with the deodorant lately. He always asks what it is for and I tell him it is so Mommy and Daddy don't stink. One of his favorite Bible stories right now is about the Israelites wandering in the desert. It talks about how they where whining and complaining and saying, "this stinks!" And then it says something about how it really did stink because the Israelites hadn't been able to take a bath in weeks. Samuel always stops us at this point and says, "No! It's because they forgot to put on . . . . that stuff!" Usually he can't remember the word deodorant. I think this fascination may have influenced the above conversation!
