Christmas Post #3

Today we did our family Christmas with just our little family.  It was simple and nothing extravagant, but that's okay!  I filled the stockings yesterday before we left for my parent's house (and after the kids were already in the car).  So when we walked into the house this morning, Santa had already come!  It worked out well this way because my kids are terrified of Santa Claus so I figured the best way for him to come to our house is when we weren't even there!  I have been singing "Santa Claus is coming to town" and whenever Hope hears me singing it, she interrupts me and says, "But not to my house!"  Yes, Santa Claus coming to our house while they were sleeping would totally backfire on us and give my kids nightmares!  We opened our stockings this morning and then the kids opened their bigger presents this evening.

Our traditional picture in front of the Christmas tree before opening presents.  Love all the kids' facial expressions!

 Hope enjoying her new books.

Samuel with some of his stocking stuffers.  He isn't happy or anything. ;)

Aliyah and Daddy looking at one of her new books.
Aliyah loves snowmen.  She was pretty excited to open a book all about a snowman!

Later in the day, Samuel and Daddy made a new track on his train table - adding in the turntable and the roundhouse that Samuel got from Uncle Tim and Aunt Kaye.

Opening the "bigger" presents in the evening:
Hope got the Melissa and Doug birthday cake.  It was a big hit with all 3 kids!

The girls got a combined gift of a dollhouse.  Thank you, craigslist!

Samuel got more train pieces for his train table.  This boy loves his trains!

Playing with 1/2 of his new train set while waiting for Daddy to assemble the rest of it!

The girls busy playing with their dollhouse.  I think it is going to get a lot of use!
