This evening we had a pizza picnic with my parents and Savannah at the arboretum behind KALSEC (where my Dad works). Daryl and I were going to go to the Nature Center and have a picnic there but when I mentioned that to my Mom, she suggested going to the arboretum instead. I was good with that - especially because the arboretum was free! Samuel had the best time ever and didn't want to leave. We had pizza and let the kids throw wood chips and stones into the water before walking around the pond. Our walk around the pond was "kid pace" and we let Samuel, Savannah, and Hope take their time and enjoy playing with sticks, stones, and anything else the could find (except for the dirty toothbrush that Hope picked it - that was quickly put back down!). Samuel loves being outside and he loves being by water so this was a perfect activity for him. Aliyah did great in the backpack (her first time in it!) and Hope walked almost all the way around the pond before asking to go in the stroller. A fun night and definitely something that we'll have to do again. Enjoy the pictures of our adventure!
