Easter Egg Hunt

Today we had an Easter Egg hunt with our small group. The kids are all little (a 5 year old and four two year olds) so we just decided to do a quiet, little egg hunt instead of joining in on the chaos and madness of the egg hunt at our Church. Yesterday was cold and rainy but this morning the sun came out just in time! The kids first listened to the Easter Story (enthusiastically and expressively read by Jeshua!) and then we all headed outside for the egg hunt!!

Samuel was pretty excited about the whole concept of finding eggs and putting them into his bucket . . . until he picked this egg up and found out that it was wet. He made the horrible face that he makes when he picks up wet things and started to put it back down right where he found it, saying, "it's wet!!" I convinced him to put it in his bucket instead of putting it back down on the ground!

Hope loves buckets/purses/bags and putting things into them so this was perfect for her! She couldn't believe her good fortune!! She did a great job finding eggs and putting them into her bucket. She probably stayed more on track than Samuel did!

At one point shortly after Samuel began hunting for eggs, he saw the slide. He put down his bucket and said "a slide!" and ran over to play on it. Slides trump Easter
eggs any day, apparently!

This was about the point where Hope realized that there was candy and little toys inside of the eggs. Every time she picked one up she had to open it up and see what was inside of it. We put a stop to that pretty quickly!!

After going down the slide a couple of times Samuel decided that maybe he should continue searching for more eggs!

See Hope trying to open her egg?

My parent's were there so my Mom could be the photographer and my Dad could help with the kids. It was nice to not worry about taking pictures!! And it was super helpful that my Dad carried Aliyah around so that Daryl and I could help Samuel and Hope.

Opening up all of the Easter eggs and finding the goodies inside. After the kids looked through all of their treasures we had a delicious brunch with the whole small group. Thank you, Laukas, for hosting the party!! We all had a great time. :)
